Indication: Weakness of the Heart in calming the Mind, with absence of mutual control between Water (Kidney) and Fire (Heart), i.e. Heart/Kidney Disharmony, characterised by stress, nervousness, anxiety, insomnia, depression.
Action: Nourishes the Heart, calms the Mind, clears Heart Heat, supports memory and restores communication between Heart and Kidney. Nourishes Yin, especially Heart and Kidney Yin. Anxiety-relieving, depression-relieving, Mind-calming, Heart-supporting, Heart-calming, clarifies the head, strengthens Kidney Yin and nourishes Yin.
Symptoms: Emotional stress, stress, restlessness, anxiety, palpitations, depression, insomnia, disturbed sleep, excessive dreaming.
Difficulty falling asleep, light restless sleep with frequent waking, nightmares, night sweating, irritability, nervousness, emotional lability, fearfulness, fear, memory and concentration problems, forgetfulness, shortness of breath, mouth and tongue ulcers, vertigo (dizziness), tinnitus, warm palms and soles, dry throat.
