Action: Activates Blood and Qi circulation, resolves Blood Stagnation, relieves pain. Particularly for Blood Stagnation in the chest, head and Stomach, and for Qi and Blood Stagnation in general.
A feeling of fullness, tension and pain in the chest, abdomen and hypochondriac region, fixed abdominal masses, numbness, blackish spots on the face, dull complexion, dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, heavy or scanty menstruation, irregular menstruation, cyanosis, worsening of pain with pressure and at night, relief of pain after passing clots, restlessness, insomnia, hiccups.
Arterial hypertension, myocardial infarction, rheumatic valvular heart disease, angina pectoris, costochondritis, thoracic contusions, trigeminal neuralgia, intercostal neuralgia, neuropsychoses, migraine, post-concussion syndrome, fibromyomas, chronic gastritis, chronic oesophagitis, menopausal syndrome, dysmenorrhoea.
Tongue & Pulse: Purple tongue or dark-red tongue with purple spots, thin white tongue coating. Rough (SE), fine (XI) or wiry (XIAN).
